Los Angeles Venue and Travel details

Classes will be held in the meeting room. Free parking is available in the building parking facility.

 

Travel by air:

 

There are three airports that serve the Los Angeles metropolitan area; however, the only airport within reasonable distance of the venue is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

 

Taxis are available on the Arrivals level of all terminals. Travel time to/from downtown Los Angeles is 25-50 minutes depending on traffic. Only licensed LA taxis can pick up from LAX airport. They have a fixed fare of $46.50 plus gratuities for trips between the airport and downtown Los Angeles.

 

Several companies provide 24 hour shared van service between LAX airport and surrounding areas. They cost around $20-25 to downtown LA. Here is a listing of just two of the services available:

General Notes

Prices vary according to the time of year. The prices listed below, which were checked in October 2010 are for the lowest priced room and does not include tax. It pays to call several places and shop around. Most of the options will require taking a bus or taxi to the class site if you are not a good walker. You can go to www.google.com  maps to determine the distance from accommodations to the venue.

Be aware that better prices can usually be had by booking as far in advance as possible and using special booking sites. You can always cancel the reservation if something better comes along unless you use a non-refundable option. Please communicate with the class organizer before booking a non-refundable rate. Most hotels have discount rates for AAA and some have discounts on the Internet. It is best to call the hotel directly before booking on the internet to compare prices.
